GLOBAL NEWS OPPORTUNITY TO PRAY: INDIA
Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Hindu nationalist organization Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has seen a 20 percent increase in membership. Its emboldened base seeks to forcibly unite India under Hinduism despite the country’s great diversity of languages, cultures and religions. Although Prime Minister Modi has publicly said his government will not tolerate religious discrimination, his actions have proved otherwise. Vague policies, such as laws forbidding the conversion of Hindus, have passed in several Indian states, and the push for a similar federal law has gained support. These state anti-conversion laws have long been used against pastors, church planters and evangelists. Via: Voice of the Martyrs
Way to pray: Christians can be arrested for sharing their faith with Hindus. Pray for their boldness while imprisoned.
MISSIONARY HIGHLIGHT: WHEELER

Miriam Wheeler, MD, joined Association of Baptists for World Evangelism (ABWE) in 1990 and as of 2019, is currently serving as ABWE's Medical Director of International Missionary Healthcare. For the past 20 years, Miriam served in Odessa, Ukraine where she cared for the medical needs in the small villages surrounding Odessa and Nikolaev and also shared her faith in Christ with people whose spiritual needs are great. Miriam's new role will allow her to serve with a more global impact from right here in the states. Miriam will continue to spend about 2-3 months in Ukraine every year and a portion of her support funds the medical ministry in Ukraine each month.
Miriam graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in 1985 and completed her residency in Greenville, during which time she was a member of Fellowship Greenville. After joining ABWE, she served in a hospital ministry in Togo, West Africa until the Lord moved her to Ukraine in 1998.
Way to Pray: Wisdom for giving medical advice to ABWE missionaries around the world and counsel to ABWE administrators concerning healthcare needs. ABWE has 1000 missionaries in over 60 countries. Miriam needs an Associate Medical Director to help carry the load of her work. Please pray God brings along the right person.

OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE: BASIC NEEDS DRIVE: LEAD COLLECTIVE
LEAD Collective exists to equip and elevate leaders in the way of Jesus, from historically under-resourced communities in Greenville, SC. They do this through three different programs--Eleos, an afterschool program geared towards youth in Nicholtown, GOAT, an outdoor adventure program geared toward youth in under-resourced areas, and Reach, a second-chance diversion program for youth in the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ).
On Sundays, April 19 and 26, we have the opportunity to bless these programs and these students by donating the following to LEAD Collective:
- Pre-packaged snacks
- Packaged juices like Capri Sun
- Peanut butter, jelly
These items can be dropped off in the bins located at both our HWY 14 and Adam's Mill campuses.
