PRAYER REQUESTS

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble". Psalm 46:1

"If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land". 2 Chronicles 7:14

The Prayer Team: If you have a heart for supporting and praying with those who are hurting, we invite you to join our Sunday morning Prayer Teams! To ensure we handle sensitive prayer requests with the utmost care, we ask that all new team members go through the process of becoming Fellowship Greenville Members. If you're interested in serving in this vital ministry, please reach out to Rebecca at rcooke@fellowshipgreenville.org.

  • Please pray for Pam Ried and her family.  Pam's sister, Kim, passed away on Feb. 28th.
  • Also pray for Joy Campbell and her family.  Joy's father passed away Mar 13th.
  • Clair Harmon asks for prayer for her 94 year old neighbor who is in hospice care.
  • Esther Cornejo requests prayer.  She and her husband returned to El Salvador to renew their visas.  Her husband, Daniel, received his renewal in three days--she has been waiting three months!  They are anxious to return home.  She said they are watching the sermons online every week.  She says, "Just like the walls of Jericho, we believe battles are won through worship. We are seeking the Lord and trusting Him to do the impossible!"
  • Dan Wooten says that his wife came through her surgery well.  He asks for prayer for her healing and that he will have strength and rest as he takes on the responsibility for her care and their home.
  • There are several more prayer requests for personal and family health needs.
GLOBAL NEWS OPPORTUNITY TO PRAY: LEBANON

Our partner, Horizons International recently sent us the following update "a few nights ago we had a wave of airstrikes in South Lebanon and southern Beirut (We were all woken up by the explosions at 2:45 am) - and because of that, the next morning we awoke to an emerging crisis of displaced people fleeing South Lebanon to the other areas of Lebanon. Many of them fled suddenly, without time to prepare, so they have little more than the clothes on their backs. We scrambled to coordinate with several of our partner churches in the most affected areas, as well as several other nonprofit organizations, to launch a coordinated effort. The number of displaced grew from 10,000 to over 100,000 in one day, and now on day 2 it is most likely even higher. From my house, we heard airstrikes in Beirut from 5:15-7:30 am, and there are reports of an incoming ground invasion from the south of us. We feel safe in our areas (with the exception of our Tyre team, who evacuated yesterday to Beirut), but need to care for the many who are seeking refuge among us." Since this update, there are now around one million internally displaced people across Lebanon. Via: Horizons International

Way to pray: Please pray for the country of Lebanon as well as the Horizons team as they care for those who are displaced.

MISSIONARY HIGHLIGHT: VARGA

Since 2011, Istvan Varga has been serving as the pastor of a small rural church in Toalmas, Hungary. Prior to pastoring Toalmas Baptist Church full time, Istvan served with Word of Life MInistries in Hungary. Istvan and Vica were married in 2006 and have three children, Jazmin, Ruben, and Eszter. Vica is an accomplished vocalist who has recorded a number of worship albums used widely in Hungary. They are thrilled to be able to use their gifts as a team.

Way to Pray:  The Vargas are currently working on renovating their new church building. Pray that this process goes smoothly! Please pray for wisdom and discernment as they continue to minister to those that God brings to their church.

  • Pray for the Foths (Australia) and their ministry as a new university calendar starts! They are praying that God brings new student leaders their way!
  • Please pray that God gives our partner, World Relief, wisdom and discernment as they minister to a population of refugees and immigrants who are very fearful right now.

  • Iglesia Alumbra, a partner church in Barranquilla, Colombia, asks us to help them pray for a larger place to worship. Please also pray for partners in Domzale, Slovenia, Médard-en-Jalles, France and Potsdam, Germany as they are also feeling the limitations of space!
OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE: UPDATE

LEAD Collective exists to equip and elevate leaders in the way of Jesus, from historically under-resourced communities in Greenville, SC. They do this through three different programs--Eleos, an afterschool program geared towards youth in Nicholtown, GOAT, an outdoor adventure program geared toward youth in under-resourced areas, and Reach, a second-chance diversion program for youth in the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ).

On Sundays, April 19 and 26, we have the opportunity to bless these programs and these students by donating the following to LEAD Collective:

  • Pre-packaged snacks
  • Packaged juices like Capri Sun
  • Peanut butter, jelly

These items can be dropped off in the bins located at both our HWY 14 and Adam's Mill campuses.
