PRAYER REQUESTS

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble". Psalm 46:1

"If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land". 2 Chronicles 7:14

The Prayer Team is actively looking for individuals who would like to minister to our congregation by meeting with those who need prayer following the Sunday services. Volunteers are on duty once a month for one service.  At this time, we particularly have a need for the following weeks/services: 1st Sunday/2nd Service, and 3rd Sunday/2nd Service.  If you are interested in serving with the Prayer Team, please contact Rebecca Cooke at 864-385-3368 or rcooke@fellowshipgreenville.org.

  • Please pray for the following people who have lost loved ones recently:
  • Holly Dowling lost her father, Steve, on Jan. 23rd.
  • Patti Tumas and her family. Her brother passed away on Jan. 24th.
  • Teresa Jones lost her mother, Ruby "Angie" Charping on Jan. 31st Obituary: Ruby Evangeline "Angie" Charping
  • Amy Pentti says: I recently received a cancer diagnosis and am awaiting test results to determine my treatment. Please pray for my care team/medial team to come up with the best plan for me. Also, pray for myself and my family as we begin the healing journey. I truly believe God has this!
  • Steve Moll requests prayer for his brother-in-law who is recovering from Kidney Cancer.
  • Dave Abela requests prayer for his wife and himself as they recover from surgeries.
GLOBAL NEWS OPPORTUNITY TO PRAY: LAOS

The Communist government, in conjunction with Buddhist monks, persecutes Christians, with the exception of the government-controlled Lao Evangelical Church. Poverty, lack of infrastructure and mountainous terrain make evangelistic outreach challenging. Thanks to bold evangelists, churches continue to grow even as they experience ongoing persecution. Most believers are persecuted by family members or village authorities concerned that Christians offend the spirits, and the central government restricts Christian activity. Via: Ananias House

Way to pray: Pray for training designed to help tribal Christians persevere through persecution and boldly share the gospel.

MISSIONARY HIGHLIGHT: MUNG

The Mung Family partners with Fellowship Greenville through LIVE GLOBAL (a ministry of ABWE). With a heart to train church leaders to serve as evangelists and church planters to reach Myanmar, Dr. Do Suan Mung founded Faith Baptist Bible College (FBBC) in his hometown of Tedim in 1986. In 1993, a seminary program was added. Over the years, students of Faith Baptist Bible College and Seminary have come from 8 states of Myanmar representing some 22 ethnic races. In 2003, Dr. Mung established a seminary in Yangon offering a Master of Divinity program. Many graduates (now over 1500) of FBBC and the two seminaries have become competent, influential leaders all over Myanmar.

Since Dr. Mung's death in July of 2021, David Mung, Dr. Mung's son, has been leading the ministry of the college and the seminary. In 2013, upon receiving a Pastoral Ministry degree, David first became a part of the leadership team when he took over as president of FBBC in Tedim. Since then, he has earned a Master of Religious Education degree while serving alongside his father. David is married with three children. He is thankful to have had the opportunity to work with his father and see his passion for God's glory. In David's words, "It's my earnest prayer to follow in my dad's footsteps and continue to expand the ministry he started."

Way to Pray:  Please pray for the entire Mung family as they continue to minister in a politically volatile country. David and his family remain committed to the sharing and teaching of the Gospel in the midst of instability. David has specifically asked for prayer for his health as he has been struggling and for the Lord to provide a better living situation as they are currently in a cramped space.

OPPORTUNITY: BASIC NEEDS DRIVE: PIEDMONT WOMENS CENTER

Piedmont Women’s Center is committed to demonstrating the love of Christ to those facing pregnancy-related needs. They serve women, men, and their unborn babies by providing physical care and personal guidance that many of them cannot find elsewhere.

On Sundays, February 15 & 22*, we have the opportunity to bless their ministry and the mothers and babies they serve by donating the following items that PWC has requested:

  • Baby socks
  • Sleepers
  • Bath towels
  • Washcloths
  • Receiving blankets
  • Pacifiers

These items can be dropped off in the collection bins located at both our Hwy 14 and Adams Mill campuses. *These dates have been moved due to the potential for inclement weather.

MISSIONARY AND PARTNER UPDATES

  • We praise God that one of our missionaries in Turkey recently accomplished a major goal which will allow her to continue her ministry in a new direction. Please pray for guidance as she figures out next steps.
  • Please pray that God gives our partner, World Relief, wisdom and discernment as they minister to a population of refugees and immigrants who are very fearful right now.
  • Please pray for Kaylyn Brown (Athletes in Action) and her husband Tim as they support Tim's father through a cancer diagnosis and treatment.
  • Iglesia Alumbra, a partner church in Barranquilla, Colombia, asks us to help them pray for a larger place to worship. Please also pray for partners in Domzale, Slovenia, Médard-en-Jalles, France and Potsdam, Germany as they are also feeling the limitations of space!
OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE: FAMILIES COUNT

This spring, Fellowship Greenville is hosting Lifeline's Families Count (faith-based) parenting classes. These are classes that have been approved by DSS and the court system for parents who have lost custody of their children. Often, taking parenting classes is a requirement of the court for parents to regain custody of their children.

We have two big needs that people can volunteer to serve in.

  • The first is volunteering to be a mentor for one of the individuals who will be taking the parenting class.
  • The second is volunteering to make a meal for 20-25 people the night of one of these classes (meals will need to be dropped off at Fellowship Greenville in Room 200 at 5:15 each evening).

You can register here

The dates of the class are as follows: March 24, March 31, April 7, April 14, April 21, April 28, and May 5.
