Communications Coordinator

We're looking for a dynamic Communications Coordinator to help our ministries share their stories and connect with our community. You'll guide projects from concept to completion, collaborate with talented content creators, and ensure our communication aligns with the church's mission. Main Objective: As a member of the Communications Team, this person will work closely with ministry teams to develop a strong, relational understanding of their values, strategy, and goals, interpreting them to create realistic, practical, and effective communication solutions.

Job Description:
  • Project manager for all Comms project requests through the church database project management system (ROCK) 
  • Serve as a bridge between the Communications Team and ministry teams, ensuring clear, strategic, and effective communication that aligns with each ministry’s goals.
  • Work with ministry teams to clarify their requests, set realistic expectations, and guide them through the creative process.
  • Help ministry teams understand media production timelines, best practices, and how to communicate effectively with their audience.
  • Collaborate with Communications content creators to make sure media projects meet both ministry needs and communication standards.
  • Understand and be aware of FG calendar and rhythms, providing guidance to the Comms Team on upcoming opportunities for promotion, story-telling venues to capture content, and vision/mission messaging to echo.
  • Help drive forward the schedule for project completion 
  • Schedule video shoots and collect stories as needed
  • Utilize file storage systems like Dropbox, Google Drive, etc
  • Coordinate stories for newsletters
  • Cover all outsourcing interactions and church resource inventory
  • Other duties as assigned
Critical Skills: Excellent writing and editing skills; Strong understanding of social media platforms and best practices; Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines; Exceptional relational and communication skills, with the ability to build trust, understand needs, and collaborate effectively with ministry teams; Ability to navigate conversations with clarity and wisdom, helping shape requests in a way that leads to the best possible outcome; Creative thinking and ability to develop engaging content; A solid understanding of media production workflows, including design, video, and digital content creation, to ensure requests are feasible and well-planned; Familiarity with graphic design tools may be beneficial.

Job Status: Full-Time, 40 hours/wk Hourly, Non-Exempt
