Missionary Care Director

The ideal candidate with have a heart for missions and a desire to oversee all care for FG missionaries and FG local and global partners while evaluating the needs of these missionaries and partners and proposing solutions in order to continue a culture of extravagant care for them.

Main Objective: To oversee all care for FG missionaries and FG local and global partners while evaluating the needs of these missionaries and partners and proposing solutions in order to continue a culture of extravagant care for them.

Job Description:

Oversee missionary/partner care:

  • Oversee partner care of all current FG missionaries and both local and global partners while methodically working to introduce them to the Missional Impact Director, Gospel Expansion Pastor and Missions Team.
  • Be prepared to advise and/or offer pastoral counseling to FG missionaries
  • When necessary, mediate missionary conflicts, including marital/familial issues

Collaborate closely with the Missional Impact Director to:

  • Identify and coordinate missionary care trips based on the needs of FG missionaries
  • Propose funding based on missionary care needs
  • Assist in the vetting of new missionaries and partners
  • Assist in re-evaluations of FG missionaries and partners

Oversee equipping:

  • Based on relational equity with missionaries and partners, work closely with the Missions Team to develop new volunteer opportunities and training environments for FG congregations to serve within their circles of accountability and to the ends of the earth.

Other:

  • Collaboratively work with the Missions Team to create opportunities for mobilization of FG congregation.
  • Champion Missional Impact Focus Area as identified by Gospel Expansion Pastor.
  • Participate in all team meetings.
Critical Skills: Heart for the world with 5+ years of experience in caring for cross-cultural workers preferred. Specific understanding of and a keen appreciation for FG’s evolving missions philosophy. Cross-cultural awareness, discernment, and spirit of diplomacy. Have the ability to teach. Strong problem-solving and organizational skills. Be able to travel both domestically and internationally as needed.

Reports To: Expansion and Ministry Services Pastor
Relates Closely To: Gospel Expansion Team, local and global partners, and missionaries
Job Status: Full-time, 40+ hours/week with occasional nights, weekends, and travel
