Community Group and Care Pastor-Adams Mill

As the Adams Mill Campus launches, the position will focus on the community group and care aspects of ministry. The candidate will be a part of the mobilization of Christ's people through equipping others to make disciples living on mission, and care for and support the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual needs of the Adams Mill congregation using biblical approaches.

Main Objective: To participate in the mobilization of all Christ’s people at Adams Mill through equipping others to make disciples living on mission, and care for and support the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual needs of our congregation using biblical approaches.

Job Description:

Community Group Focus:

  • Work with the HWY 14 Community Groups team to replicate effective systems and processes to connect people into community groups
  • Recruit and train new leaders; equip and develop existing leaders; care for all adult community group leaders
  • Collaborate on curriculum, based on the groups’ needs, and distribute to leaders with HWY 14
  • Formulate and implement an effective congregational communication strategy that promotes community groups’ value, fosters a culture of connectivity, and provides repeated opportunities for individuals to join groups

Care Focus:

  • Replicate, lead, and oversee strategies to connect people who need solid biblical counseling with trained people to respond to those needs including but not limited to: crisis, marriage, financial, etc.
  • Create opportunities for the congregation to get support in key areas of life in collaboration with HWY 14.
  • General pastor activities like counseling, baptisms, communion, hospital visits, etc. 
  • Coordinate counseling services, including pastoral and lay counseling, and scheduling w/ counseling partners.

Connection Focus:

  • Collaborate with the HWY 14 team for Sunday experience for all guests and members through Next Steps, Connections, Prayer Teams, and the overall guest experience.
  • Assist in teaching in Starting Point, Membership Class and other environments as needed.
Critical Skills: Proven experience in leading small groups and multiplying leaders Exhibits gifts and creative leadership skills necessary to work in a collaborative team environment and be able to establish and achieve goals as a supportive team leader/member. Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to discern, maintain, and manage sensitive and confidential information Self-starter with the ability to navigate and complete multiple projects
