Though most commonly known for its painful history of racial discrimination and socioeconomic divide, more recently Jacksonians have been able to witness and take part in a movement towards the reconciliation and revitalization of Mississippi's capital city.
Our team will be serving with Praying Pelican Missions which aims to give mission teams the opportunity to make a long-term, genuine impact on a local community. While there, our group of upperclassman students will have the opportunity to serve alongside a local church in the Jackson area. Students will be able to participate in small work projects as well as kids' clubs.
From June 17-23 the team will get to experience serving and learning in this new environment! Because of fluctuating airfare costs, we are estimating a higher trip cost to be cautious. We are estimating a $1,200 cost which will cover airfare, lodging, food, and more. Upon approval of application, trip participants are responsible for a 10% non-refundable deposit. Participants are also responsible for any meals and snacks purchased in airports and for any souvenirs they wish to purchase.
