Middle School Believe Conference
Being certain of our identity is a universal struggle, especially for Middle School students who are at a pivotal time in their lives. They're constantly asking “Who am I?” But they can’t truly know who they are until they know who God is. This year's CIY Believe Conference will answer those questions and help students find their identity in God. Believe will focus on four key phrases that will be a foundation for middle school students to have deeper conversations about their identity: “I am God’s masterpiece,” “I am God’s child,” “I am the church” and “I am a Kingdom worker.” Our identity is not found in what we do, but in who we are, and God has made us who you are. "Who Am I? … I am who God says I am."
Join us for a weekend of fun, discipleship, and relationship-building with other middle school students and leaders March 15-16 in Atlanta. Transportation will be provided from and back to Fellowship Greenville. Sign up now for $120 per student. After March 8, the price will increase. Please send $25 with your child for meals outside the conference.
We’ll depart from Fellowship Greenville at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 15 on charter buses. We’ll spend Friday night at the Country Inn & Suites at 5970 Jimmy Carter Blvd in Norcross, GA. The same buses will take us to the conference on Saturday morning at the Greater Atlanta Christian School at 1575 Indian Trail Road, Norcross, GA.
At the hotel Friday night, there will be up to four students in each room, with leaders in separate rooms. Our normal policy is for two leaders to be present with students any time there’s a closed-door or private setting. However, to do this in a hotel would require a 1-to-1 student-to-leader ratio—which is more leaders than we have. For this reason, leaders’ room will be on both ends of each hall at this hotel, and leaders will check rooms when it’s time for lights out.
Since we can’t have a leader in every room, we’ll be taking our own security team to Norcross. They’ll be awake all night and present on each hall, working to keep everyone quiet, safe, and orderly—and the kids will know that this team will never be more than a few feet away throughout the night should they need anything at all.
Also, to eliminate distractions in the hotel rooms, we've asked that the hotel disable TVs in our rooms, and our staff will be collecting cell phones and tablets. This collection will take place just before students go to bed and will allow plenty of time to call home and check in. Everyone will need a good night of sleep as we will be waking up around 7 am on Saturday.
We’ll have a full day at the CIY Believe Conference on Saturday, March 16. When it’s over, we’ll grab dinner on the trip home, and we’ll arrive back at Fellowship Greenville at 7:00 pm.
