Volunteer with Active Seniors
Senior Action is a non-profit organization providing programs and services for seniors in Greenville County since 1967. At Senior Action, our desire is to see seniors active and healthy physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually. We offer programs at nine locations to promote health and wellness through activities and health education; programs that encourage relationships and lifelong learning; as well as services that provide meals, transportation and home care to help seniors remain in their own homes as long as possible.
Volunteers are an essential part of our success. Without volunteers, we would not be able to host the variety of classes we offer or serve lunch every day. Here are several volunteer opportunities available at our main office off of Orchard Park Drive and eight satellite locations.
Lunch is served every day 11am-1pm. Individual and group volunteers are needed to serve meals and engage with seniors. Bible Study and Book Club leaders can lead small group discussions for short term sessions of 3-6 weeks. Medical professionals can lead health workshops. IT professionals can lead computer and tech literacy classes in the computer lab. Artists and musicians can teach classes. Students can teach seniors how to use smart phones and social media. Kids can let seniors teach them how to knit or crochet.
