READ
“I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David! And you will recognize him by this sign: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.” Luke 2:10-12 (NLT)
REFLECT
Who would have ever imagined that God would humble Himself to the form of man… and not just a man, but a baby? A real-life, holdable, vulnerable, newborn baby. The One who holds the entire universe in His hands, came down to earth so we could hold Him in ours. What?! Why?! Because of His great love for us. He came so we may know and experience the fullness of His love in Jesus. He loved us so much, He humbled Himself taking on the form of a human baby to live in our fallen world and to give His life as a ransom for us - His beloveds.
RESPOND
Next time you see a newborn baby or small child, pause for a second and be filled with wonder by the great love of our great God, who came down as a small human. Hold the child and thank God for His love for us… And maybe go serve in the nursery.
