“Though He was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. REFLECT

Jesus had never been separated from God. Yet He laid aside the use of His divine privileges - His omnipotence, His omnipresence, His omniscience, so He could fully be man. So that He could fully identify with you and me in our pain, our suffering, our trials, and our temptations. So that He could become our sacrifice. So that we could reconcile ourselves to God. So that He could become our High Priest to ever intercede on our behalf. So that He could be our advocate to the Father.
