Day 11 | The Vastness of God's Love and Mercy
Written by Rachelle Adams
READ
“The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23 (ESV)
REFLECT
These well-known words about God’s love and mercy were penned during immense pain and suffering, during a time when it seemed like God’s love and mercy had dried up.
For hundreds of years, the Israelites had turned from Yahweh to other gods; they had not kept covenant with their Creator. Now, they were experiencing the consequences as Babylonian armies conquered them and took them off into exile. Could God’s love and mercy have run out? Was there hope they would experience His love again?
God’s love and mercy are as vast as the sea; they can never dry up. No matter what your circumstances are, God loves you tremendously - so much that he was willing to send his Son to die for you and his Spirit to fill you.
