"In this season of life, with all of the craziness that has seemed to surround us, God has been teaching me that my identity rests solely in him. Throughout my life, I have often believed that I could find meaning and a sense of belonging in others and their opinions of me. While there was pleasure, there was no true satisfaction or peace that I had been searching for. I selfishly chose to continue my pursuit of what I thought joy and satisfaction should look like, but I chose them outside of the realm of Jesus.

However, over the course of 2020 God has freed me from the thoughts and sins that have entangled me. He has renewed a sense of purpose and belonging in my life. Through my CBR group, a community that I have found at Fellowship Greenville, and through the scriptures, we have studied throughout this year...I have been able to see that my identity is in Jesus and I belong to him. There has been such joy in working through the Bible with my CBR group and today (John 15:16) there was yet another reminder that God chose me and that I am to be satisfied in Him. 

While 2020 hasn’t been the most popular year, I am thankful for the lessons I have been able to learn by being forced to slow down and hear from Jesus." - Seth F.
