PRAYER REQUESTS

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble". Psalm 46:1

"If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land". 2 Chronicles 7:14

The Prayer Team is actively looking for individuals who would like to minister to our congregation by meeting with those who need prayer following the Sunday services. Volunteers are on duty once a month for one service.  At this time, we particularly have a need for the following weeks/services: 1st Sunday/2nd Service, and 3rd Sunday/2nd Service.  If you are interested in serving with the Prayer Team, please contact Liana Grace at 864-385-3368 or lgrace@fellowshipgreenville.org.

Please pray for these other requests:

  • Melody Bechard asks for prayer for her nephew who is struggling with addiction. Please pray for his salvation and for guidance for his family.
  • Cindy Bohr requests prayer for some eye problems. Please pray for wisdom for the doctors and a resolution to the problems she is having.
  • Greg Hutchinson had knee surgery this week and would like prayer for a swift recovery.
  • Mike Navis would like prayers for wisdom.
  • Families Count (9/16-10/28) - Please pray for our parents going through this 7-week parenting class to come to know Jesus if they don't already. Pray that this class will make an impact on their parenting and their families.
  • Andrew Weaver requests prayer for his parents as his dad continues to fight cancer.
  • Isaac Messer asks for prayer for his son-in-law who is in the National Guard and for his wife & daughter.
  • Jason Clark would like prayer for a health concern.
  • Bill Bemesderfer requests prayer for his son, who was born premature. He is home from the NICU, but there are still concerns, so please pray for peace and strength. Please pray that Bill would have strength to accomplish all that needs to be done and that God would guide him regarding some decisions.
  • Jenna Weaver asks for prayer for her father-in-law for a new diagnosis.
  • James Bishop would like prayer for his family since they are under a lot of stress right now.
  • Ashly Tomlinson asks for prayer for her father, who is navigating a hard season, and for multiple family members with recent or upcoming surgeries. Please also pray for her neighbor, whose wife passed away recently.
  • Melody Lowe asks for prayer. She believes God is leading her to make a life change and potentially move. Please pray for courage to follow God's leading.
GLOBAL NEWS OPPORTUNITY TO PRAY: NEPAL

"The government of Nepal is taking an increasingly strong stand against religious conversion. Despite the 2015 constitution that guaranteed religious freedom, Parliament criminalized converting someone to another religion. Christian communities are small, but they boldly witness for Christ despite harassment and risk.

There is a small, visible Christian community in Nepal, but believers experience opposition from extremists among the Hindu, Muslim, Buddhist and Marxist groups. Christians face false accusations, harassment and beatings from family and communities. They also face opposition from local Hindu nationalists who envision Nepal becoming a “pure” Hindu nation. Christians are considered to be untouchables and are ostracized by society. They are seen as people who “destroy culture” and promote foreign religions." Via: Voice of the Martyrs

Way to pray: Pray that Christians whose churches have been attacked will reflect God's love to their persecutors. Please also pray for the country as there have been ongoing protests lately. To read more about that, you can visit this page

MISSIONARY HIGHLIGHT: HAAS

Holly Beech (a graduate of Southside Christian School) began working with Trans World Radio (TWR) in 1997 during her studies at the Moody Bible Institute. That same year, Andrew Haas joined Campus Crusade for Christ (Cru) and began traveling as part of The JESUS Film Project. They met in 2006 during an Africa partnership project. Andrew soon moved to Johannesburg, South Africa, married Holly in 2008, and left Cru to join TWR. After serving together in Africa nine years, God called Andrew to a video position at TWR headquarters in North Carolina. He serves unreached oral people groups by helping deliver God's Word electronically through video. More and more bibleless people groups have access to smartphones allowing TWR to deliver series of short bible story films designed to facilitate discipleship and church planting through social media.

Way to Pray: Andrew and his TWR Motion team would appreciate prayers for the two-year process to develop a new 20 episode series of Bible story animations for Buddhists. Please also pray for Holly as her role as missions director for their church in Raleigh has continued to expand. Finally, please pray for them as they are actively on sabbatical right now. Pray that it is a time of refreshment for both of them.

OPPORTUNITY: REACH 2025 MEAL TRAIN

Feeding 15 hungry people takes a village! Can you help? Our partner, Reach, needs people who love to cook, your community groups, or even a gift card donation to help provide this weekly meal for the students in their program. If you're interested, check out their meal train.

MISSIONARY AND PARTNER UPDATES
  • We praise God for a recent rescue operation that Set Free Alliance led, which rescued 4,989 out of some form of slavery! Many of these children are now being reunited with their families after through background checks and support check-ins. Those who are not safe to return home are being welcomed into loving church homes. Please pray for these children as they heal emotionally, mentally, and physically.
  • Please pray for our missionary Juliet and her husband John (Kenya) as they prepare for Juliet to give birth to their first baby soon!
  • Please pray for a partner who will be in Asia who is working through all of the necessary logistics to get on the field there.
  • Please pray for Christians and other minority groups in Syria who are facing persecution! Pray especially that Christians will continue to be a strong witness to those around them.
  • Iglesia Alumbra, a partner church in Barranquilla, Colombia, asks us to help them pray for a larger place to worship. Please also pray for partners in Domzale, Slovenia, Médard-en-Jalles, France and Potsdam, Germany as they are also feeling the limitations of space!
