The Prayer Team is actively looking for individuals who would like to minister to our congregation by meeting with those who need prayer following the Sunday services. Volunteers are on duty once a month for one service.  At this time, we particularly have a need for the following weeks/services: 1st Sunday/2nd Service, and 3rd Sunday/2nd Service.  If you are interested in serving with the Prayer Team, please contact Rebecca Cooke at 864-385-3368 or rcooke@fellowshipgreenville.org.

• Please pray for the family of Danny Powell. His brother, Jerry, passed away on April 30th.
• Please pray for Georgianna Shore who was recently diagnosed with Lymphoma. Pray for the doctors' wisdom in treating her and for healing.
• Phyllis Showvaker requests prayer for her nephew, Adam. Doctors think he is having mini strokes, and he’s had multiple operations recently. Please pray for encouragement and healing.
• Melody Bechard asks for prayer for her sister, who is going through chemo. Please pray that God would draw her to himself and for healing.
• Kayla Clark would like prayer for financial stability and for her husband to find work. She would also appreciate prayer for trust in the Lord and his plan despite circumstances.
• Julie Mitchell asks for prayer for patience and guidance in parenting her four kids.
• Amy Ovalle requests prayer for her brother, Matt, who had a stroke a couple weeks ago. Please pray that the blood clot in his brain would be healed and not cause any further damage, that his right side would heal, and that this would bring him and his family to Christ.
• Bill Osburn asks for prayer that he would live a transformed life.
• Lucy Kobliska would like prayer for her mom to know the Lord and that she would stay connected to friends while she is going through chemo, and that her dad would read the Bible he now has.
• Jenna Weaver asks for prayer for patience and forgiveness.
• Dustin Seppala requests prayer for a co-worker who has had a drug relapse.

"Front-line workers in Pakistan report that the level of brutality against Christians in the country has been increasing in recent months. 'In my 65 years, I have never seen these kinds of things in Pakistan,' said one worker. On March 24, 2025, a Muslim in the Punjab province attacked a Christian coworker with a paper cutter, slashing his throat. The Christian barely survived and is currently unable to speak. On March 27, 2025, a Christian couple was stopped in the Faisalabad district and robbed at gunpoint by two masked men. When the men learned the couple were Christians, they tied up the husband and sexually assaulted his wife. Local police have arrested the attackers in both incidents. Way to pray: Please pray for these dear brothers and sisters who are experiencing unimaginable violence for their faith in Jesus. Pray that they are strengthened and encouraged in their faith. Please also pray for those who don't yet know Him. 

Since 2011, Istvan Varga has been serving as the pastor of a small rural church in Toalmas, Hungary. Prior to pastoring Toalmas Baptist Church full time, Istvan served with Word of Life MInistries in Hungary. Istvan and Vica were married in 2006 and have three children, Jazmin, Ruben, and Eszter. Vica is an accomplished vocalist who has recorded a number of worship CDs used widely in Hungary. They are thrilled to be able to use their gifts as a team.

Way to Pray: The Vargas are currently working on renovating their new church building. Pray that this process goes smoothly! Please pray for wisdom and discernment as they continue to minister to those that God brings to their church.

Our partner, GOAT (Great Outdoor Adventure Trips) is a Greenville-based ministry that provides opportunities for youth in Greenville to experience the love of God in nature and develop community leaders through outdoor adventures. Throughout this upcoming summer, GOAT will serve over 500 Greenville youth, none of whom will have to pay for these experiences. To make this possible, GOAT employs 6 college-aged interns to help lead these trips throughout the summer months. These interns come from all over the country and will need a place to stay while they work 40+ hours each week serving youth from historically under-resourced communities around the Upstate.

This year, GOAT has a three interns who will need housing during the 12 weeks of our summer program. For this to be possible, GOAT relies on the local church body to volunteer their homes as temporary housing for interns during their time serving at GOAT. In the past, this has been an incredible blessing for our interns, as well as GOAT as an organization. This has made it possible for many interns to serve in our ministry who otherwise couldn’t due to limited financial resources and an inability to afford housing on their own. It has also been incredible to have families (and groups of young adults) take in our interns during a season that is largely outpouring for them and leaves them in great need of rest, return, and encouragement to be poured in from their community.

The details:

• You will host one college-aged intern from May 17 - August 2, 2025
• Families and groups of young adults are both welcome to provide housing
• Interns will be working full-time, Monday-Friday, often long hours
• You are not required to provide food/feed the intern for the summer, although inviting them to join in a family meal is encouraged!
• You and your family (or roommates) will be outfitted with GOAT swag & other goodies!

• Ananias House asks for prayer for believers in Algeria who are facing increased persecution. 
• Please pray for Kenny (staff member at Lead Collective) who has recently had heart surgery. The surgery went well, and he is now home recuperating. Please pray for him to get good rest and for the recovery time to go well.
• Please continue to pray for Scott McCracken and his family as they grieve the death of Vicki following complications after a recent heart surgery at the beginning of the year. Please also pray for them as they grieve the loss of Scott's mom last week. You can read his latest update here.
• Please pray for the country of Syria right now as minority groups are facing the fear of genocide and extinction! May God’s mercy, justice, and peace prevail in Syria. Please also pray for our partner, Ananias House, as they seek to serve Syrians.
• Iglesia Alumbra, a partner church in Barranquilla, Colombia, asks us to help them pray for a larger place to worship. Please also pray for partners in Domzale, Slovenia and Potsdam, Germany as they are also feeling the limitations of space! Please also join in praying for these partner churches as they prepare for Easter services this month!

Piedmont Women's Center's annual Born to Run 5K is on Saturday, May 17 at Bob Jones University is just five weeks away and they are looking for 80 more people to join the Volunteer Team as they host their largest fundraising event of the year. 

You can volunteer as a family, a church, a business or with a group of your friends. They do encourage groups to register within the next two weeks to help them assign groups together as much as possible.
