PRAYER REQUESTS

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble". Psalm 46:1

"If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land". 2 Chronicles 7:14

The Prayer Team is actively looking for individuals who would like to minister to our congregation by meeting with those who need prayer following the Sunday services. Volunteers are on duty once a month for one service.  At this time, we particularly have a need for the following weeks/services: 1st Sunday/2nd Service, and 3rd Sunday/2nd Service.  If you are interested in serving with the Prayer Team, please contact Rebecca Cooke at 864-385-3368 or rcooke@fellowshipgreenville.org.

Please pray for these other requests:

  • Please pray for Phyllis Showvaker and her family. Phyllis' sister, Ruth, passed away on Mar. 12th.
  • Please also pray for Steven Methvin and his family. Steve's father, Gordon, passed away on Mar. 16th.
  • Please pray for JR del Castillo whose husband, Laddy, passed away on February 23rd. They are both long term members of FG. Obituary.
  • Please pray for Kim Graham and her family. Kim's mother passed away on 2/23.
  • Amy Ovalle requests prayer for her dear friend, Jenn, and her kids as they grieve the unexpected loss of her husband. Please pray for comfort and peace beyond understanding.
  • Lucy Kobliska asks for prayer for her mom, who is in the first week of 6 months of chemo.

  • Steven Jackson requests prayer for a friend, Jodi, whose mom has Parkinson's and is not doing well. Jodi is feeling overwhelmed and has her own medical issues.
  • Melody Bechard requests prayer for her sister, who has a rare cancer. Please pray for her salvation and healing. Please also pray for healing for Melody’s sciatica pain.
  • Clair Harmon asks for prayer for Joseph Christie, who has an aggressive form of colon cancer. Please pray that the chemo is effective specifically in his lymph nodes and for minimal side effects.
  • Steve Murray asks for prayer for his mother, who has two pulmonary embolisms. She is on life support and may have brain damage. Please pray for no neurological damage and complete healing.
GLOBAL NEWS OPPORTUNITY TO PRAY: BANGLADESH

"Until the 21st century, Bangladesh was considered one of the poorest countries in the world. Though there are signs of economic growth, governmental instability continues. Churches are careful when offering relief to the poor and needy because they do not want to encourage false conversions among people claiming faith in Christ solely for economic benefit. While Bangladesh is a majority-Muslim nation, the government avoids undue influence from Islamists and actively fights extremism. Millions of Bangladeshis are learning about Christ and the Bible through media outreaches.

Many Christian groups meet publicly, while others worship in unregistered churches. When Muslims convert to Christianity, they are often forced to leave their community." (via: Voice of the Martyrs)

Way to pray: Pray that Christians who are rejected by family members because of their faith will show God's love to them.

MISSIONARY HIGHLIGHT: MARTENS

In the summer of 2017, Franz and Kristie moved to Potsdam, Germany to establish a hosted Oasis for Global Workers. After 3 years of hosting Global Workers, COVID shut down all operations and the Martens started sensing the need for a change of ministry.

Noticing the lack of a church serving Internationals in the city of Potsdam, the Lord led them to plant a new church in 2022. The church, Fellowship Potsdam, is attended by international students, professionals, and Germans alike. The church has experienced rapid growth which has included many children and also local families.

The Martens still continue to offer Biblical Counseling and retreat opportunities to global workers when possible.

The Martens began their missionary service in 1996, serving with an organization specializing in church planting in the world's most remote and unreached parts. They have served as a family in Papua New Guinea and in short-term capacities in other countries. The Martens have 3 grown children, one grandchild and a grandchild on the way living in the United States.

Way to Pray: Franz and Kristie have been excited at the ways they can already see God moving in their church plant in Potsdam. Pray for this community to continue to grow stronger. Please also pray for them as they consider moving to a larger meeting space.

OPPORTUNITY: ONE LIFE 5K EVENT

OneLife Sakanaga will be hosting a 5K Run/Walk event in order to raise needed funds on April 19. Volunteers will be needed in the following areas: parking, registration, timers, merchandise sales, and water/aid stations. Please contact Faith Laudermilch at 272.202.9330 if you'd like to assist OL Sakanaga in this event.

MISSIONARY AND PARTNER UPDATES
  • Please continue to pray for Scott McCracken and his family as they grieve the death of Vicki following complications after a recent heart surgery. Here's an update Scott recently sent out.
  • Please pray for the country of Syria right now as minority groups are facing the fear of genocide and extinction! May God’s mercy, justice, and peace prevail in Syria. Please also pray for our partner, Ananias House, as they seek to serve Syrians.
  • Please pray for our friend and church member, Rodrigo Rodriguez, as he and his wife Mary are traveling to various countries for mission trips the next few months.
  • Please pray for Sam Ingrassia (E3 Partners) as he and his team are in Colombia this week!
  • Pray for the Gfellers and their church in Berlin as they seek the Lord's guidance on various church decisions! Please also pray for them as they prepare for Easter outreach
  • Iglesia Alumbra, a partner church in Barranquilla, Colombia, asks us to help them pray for a larger place to worship. Please also pray for partners in Domzale, Slovenia and Potsdam, Germany as they are also feeling the limitations of space!
OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE: FAMILIES COUNT

Fellowship Greenville and Miracle Hill are partnering to offer Lifeline's Families Count (faith-based) parenting classes. These are classes that have been approved by DSS and the court system for parents who have lost custody of their children. Often, taking parenting classes is a requirement of the court for parents to regain custody of their children.

People can volunteer to help with Families Count in either of two ways:  1) as a mentor of a class participant or 2) by making a meal for 20-25 people on class nights. Meals will need to be dropped off at the Miracle Hill Family Ministry Center at 5:15 each evening.

The dates of the class are as follows: March 27, April 3, April 10, April 17, April 24, May 1, and May 8.

Check out our website to register to volunteer.
