David’s Song of Songs (Part 2)

Jason Malone - 4/21/2024

SERMON SUMMARY

2 Samuel 22 is a song by David. As he articulates how God has been his Savior, Sustainer, Strength, and Security, we are reminded of the many ways God has shown Himself to be the same for us. The God who provided for David time and time again continues to be the One who provides for us today in and through Jesus.

SUGGESTIONS FOR COMMUNITY GROUP QUESTIONS

  1. Read 2 Samuel 22:31-51
  2. If your community group did not meet last week…take some time to discuss this question: What comes to your mind when you think about God? Also, discuss this question: Why is what comes to your mind when you think about God important?
  3. If you have someone in your community group who has not had the opportunity to share their grace story…give them the opportunity to do so and listen for how God has been not only their Savior but also their Sustainer-Strength-Security.
  4. We read of David declaring that God is his rock and fortress and shield… all words meant to convey stability and protection and security. What gives you a sense of security and stability in life?
  5. In what ways have you practically experienced God being your strength and/or security?
  6. What does it look like to give thanks to God for the good things in your life while not making those good things the ultimate things that you look to for ultimate security, worth, and value?
