Baptism Sunday

SUGGESTIONS FOR COMMUNITY GROUPS
This is an excellent week to step outside of your group's normal rhythms and do something that will build deeper relationships and community. Maybe it is going out to eat together, serving together, having a game night, or talking through your own stories of grace. There are questions below if you choose to still have facilitated discussion this week.
*We are a church located in Greenville, South Carolina. Our vision is to see God transform us into a community of grace passionately pursuing life and mission with Jesus.
OPENING PRAYER
Thank God for the stories of new life we witnessed today. Ask Him to deepen in us the same repentance, faith, and surrender we saw in the waters of baptism.
DISCUSSION QUESTIONS
- What do we learn about God and ourselves as we celebrate the baptism of fellow believers?
- What role has baptism played in your walk with the Lord?
- How have you enjoyed God as you have pursued him since our last time together?
- What has God been teaching you in his word recently?
- What do you need to be reminded of about who Christ is or who you are in Christ?
- What emotions are you feeling (hurt, lonely, sad, anger, fear, shame, guilt, joy) and what are they telling you?
- How have you used your Spirit-giftedness this past week?
- Who are you praying will come to know Jesus that seems far from God but close to you?
- What has been challenging about you sharing the gospel this past week?
- What does it look like for you to be a disciple who makes disciples in the everydayness of life?
CLOSING PRAYER
Spend your closing time in prayer for the specific people your group members know that are in your circles of influence and do not yet know Jesus. Pray for them by name as a group.
